Pesticides Screening
Food and Agriculture Commodities
Pacific Agricultural Laboratory uses the FDA Pesticide Analytical Manual–Volume I as the primary reference for pesticides screening for food products and animal feed. The methodologies are comprised of multiresidue methods. The actual number and identity of determinable residues is dependent on the sample matrix and the number and variety of determinative steps involved. In addition to multiresidue methods listed in the Pesticide Analytical Manual, Pacific Agricultural Laboratory also provides custom screens based on customer needs. Method reporting limits vary depending on the matrix and may be raised due to interference of coextracted compounds.

These screens are a combination of four Modified EPA methods: EPA 8141B (GC-FPD), EPA 8081B (GC-ECD), EPA 8270D (GC-MS, SIM mode) and EPA 8321B (HPLC-MS). They include over 170 pesticides comprised of organochlorine, organophosphorous, organonitrogen and n-methyl carbamates. It is designed to comply with Oregon DEQ Guidance for Evaluating Residual Pesticides on Lands Formerly Used for Agricultural Production (DEQ-06-LQ-011) and for other environmental screening purposes.
